Colleen Long, 87, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alma. Colleen was born June 6, 1937, daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Collins) Dugan. She graduated from Kalamazoo High school in 1956 and later that year married Warren Long. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Terry, Tammy, and Tonya. Colleen enjoyed being home with her children and was proprietor with her husband at Central Oil Tools, Countryside Pizza in Remus, and Log Cabin Party Store in Clare. She became an active member of the First Presbyterian Church after retiring. Colleen enjoyed cooking and baking. Most of all she loved her children and dogs, Emma and Annie. She will be missed by so many. Colleen is survived by her children, Terry (Kati) Long of California, Tammy (Thomas) Esch of Naples, FL, and Tonya (Mark) Sellers of Remus; grandchildren, James (Nicole) Esch, Zackary (Jessica) Sellers, and Taylor (Zach) Charron; great grandchildren, Violet, Hayes, Ella, and Wrenlee; sisters in-law, Genevieve Dugan of Kalamazoo, Riggie Toddy of Nevada, Becky Long of Georgia, and Carolyn Rich of Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren; and six siblings. Colleen's funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery next to her husband, Warren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
