Cynthia J. Reid

Cynthia Reid, 62, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Lansing, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Central Michigan Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time. Her ashes will be interred, along with her husbands ashes, in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Lansing. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes are available at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Cynthia was born Sept. 19, 1948, in Lansing, the daughter of the late Otto and Mary (Allan) Marrison. She married the late James Reid on June 24, 1972, at Lansing Maple Grove Baptist Church. She was employed by Meijer as a cashier on S. Pennsylvania St. in Lansing for 18 years before moving to Mt. Pleasant where she continued at Meijer for another 18 years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, camping and hiking. Cynthia is survived by her aunt, Jessie Krauss of Grand Ledge; uncle, Dean Marrison of Lansing; and great-aunt, Jean Haskins of Lansing. She was preceded in death by her husband, James in 2010; father, Otto in 1999; mother, Mary in 2011; and brother, Gary in 2003.
