Daniel James Chisek

Daniel Chisek, 67, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018, at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alma. Dans funeral will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 27, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Father Loren Kalinowski officiating. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Angel Flights. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Dan was born December 9, 1951, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, son of the late Theodore J. and Julia Judy A. (McNerney) Chisek. His marriage to Janene Monette was blessed with two sons, Michael and Stephen. A graduate of Shepherd High School in 1971, Dan was drafted by the U.S. Army and served from 1971-1973. He was employed as an optician for Lansing Ophthalmology and most recently for Pleasant Optics in Mt. Pleasant. He had also owned an optical business on Crapo St. in Mt. Pleasant. Dan is survived by two sons, Michael Chisek of Mt. Pleasant and Stephen Chisek of Lansing; their mother, Janene Chisek of Mt. Pleasant; siblings, Terry (Dan) Vanas of Rosebush, Martha (Ron) Seelye of Breckenridge, Betty Hertel of Indianapolis, IN, Robert Chisek of Clare, and Ann (Jim) Hire of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Judy in 1999; and his father, Theodore Ted in 2003; and two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Chisek and Carol Chisek.
