Daniel Walter Clare

Daniel Walter Clare, lovingly known as Danny, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the age of 50, after courageously battling cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family and friends in his final moments.

Danny was born on Sunday, October 27, 1974, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, to Cynthia Kay Block and Gary Lee Clare. He was raised with the care and guidance of his grandparents, Marion and Lionel Block, who played a special role in his life. Danny attended Mt. Pleasant High School, where he formed many lifelong friendships.

A man full of life and adventure, Danny loved mud bogging, traveling, fishing, and hunting. He had a gift for connecting with people everywhere he went, always leaving an impression with his big smile and kind heart. He most recently worked maintaining a campground in Florida, a job he truly loved until returning home in March to be close to his family during his illness.

Danny is survived by his beloved son, Devon Clare, and his wife Ali; two granddaughters, Emily and Hannah; his sister, Angela Walden, and her husband Andrew; his life partner, Renee Hudon, and her daughters, Macalla and Brittney Carpenter; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Marion and Lionel Block; his mother, Cynthia Parker; and his stepfather, Jerry Parker.

Danny will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his love for family and friends, and the way he brought light into the lives of everyone he met. He will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Life for close family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Lake Isabella, 1096 Queensway Dr., Weidman, MI 48893 . A separate celebration for his mud-bogging family and friends will be held at a later date.
