Daniel Edward Endres

Daniel Endres, 77, of Beal City, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at his home. Dan was born November 30, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late James and Elizabeth (Block) Endres. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1968. Dan was employed by G.T.E. from 1971-1983, General Motors from 1983-1994, and AT&T from 1994 until his retirement in 2011. Dan had a real zest for life and a memorable personality. He had a love for his family that kept him busy. He could often be seen and heard at his grandchildren's various sporting events. Rooting them on in their game and rooting them on in life was something he passionately embraced. He had a green thumb that produced a beautiful garden of vegetables every year. He then would make it a family event through canning his surplus. He loved being with friends on the water, whether on a boat or fishing. He also shared a true passion for sports, specifically U of M sports, with his family. Cheering on the maize and blue kept him spirited through many a football season. Dan witnessing a championship win was certainly a highlight of this last year. Dan will be missed most by his four children, Melissa "Missy" (Curt) Anderson of Rockford, Jason (Stephanie) MacDonald of Clare, Amanda Endres of Weidman, Nicholas Endres of Yuba City, CA; grandchildren, Tyler Anderson, Layne Anderson, Maximo MacDonald, Micah MacDonald, and Izybel Cross; great grandson, Rozyn; siblings, Roxie Gruss (Ed Mumford) of Mt. Pleasant, Debbie Mallek (Elias Zamora) of Austin, TX, and Lionel Endres of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Mitchell Endres. A Funeral Mass for Dan will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren as celebrant. A luncheon will follow at Lincoln Reception Center, concluding with Rite of Committal at St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Thursday from 3-6 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Parish.
