Daniel Joseph Huber

Daniel Huber, 58, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, unexpectedly, Saturday, October 29, 2022. Dan was born August 31, 1964, in Lansing, Michigan, son of the late Edward Huber and Evelyn (Robinson) Huber - Hovey. He wrestled for Mt. Pleasant High School, graduating with the class of 1982. He was employed by Operating Engineers Local 324 since 1995. On September 2, 2018, Dan married Ruth LaMountain in Mt. Pleasant. An avid sports fan, Dan was a proud supporter of University of Michigan teams, the Detroit Lions, Tigers and Red Wings. He was a hard worker and was exceptionally proud of his yard. More than anything, Dan loved his family, especially his nieces and his beloved grandchildren. He leaves behind his wife, Ruth; two children, Evan Huber and Kara (Tyler) Smalley, both of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Ryleigh, Makenna, and Rhett Smalley; siblings, Lisa (Clay) McCreight and Doug Huber, both of Mt. Pleasant; step siblings, Lauri Hovey of Mt. Pleasant, Steve (Wendy) Hovey of Weidman, Tara (Kevin) Franko of Clare, Doug Hovey of Mt. Pleasant, and  Jeremy (Stephanie) Hovey of Waterford;  step-daughters, Heather (Tyler) Barry of Albright Shores and Jenifer Silva of Midland; and nieces, Ranaeda (Anthony) Yuncker, Amelia (Billy) Myler, and Katie (John) Olinik. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Huber and Evelyn Huber - Hovey; step father, Terry Hovey; and sister, Annette Huber. Dan's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 8, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with a luncheon immediately following in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). The family will receive friends on Monday from 4-7 p.m. and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Dan will be laid to rest in St. Henry's Cemetery in Rosebush following the luncheon.
