Daniel J. Wernette, age 82 went to be with his Lord on Friday, March 13, 2020.

Daniel was born in Dearborn MI to Albert and Lucille (Simon) Wernette on April 30, 1937. He later settled in Weidman with the love of his life Phyllis (Abbott) Wernette. They had 5 children.

Daniel was a retiree of Dow Chemical where he had worked as an Electrician for over 30 years. He was well known in the area and helped many of the locals with their electrical needs. Daniel loved camping, fishing, hunting, trips with the bus gang and playing in Euchre tournaments with Phyllis. Daniel and Phyllis were regulars every year at the Wheatland Bluegrass Festival. Daniel was a true family man and loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. One of his favorite things was having an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids and really challenging them with his hiding places.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lucille Wernette, his wife Phyllis, son, Paul, daughters, Connie Wernette, Peggy Barr, and Julie Roche.

Daniel is survived by his son Jeffery (Rita) Wernette of Lake and Andy (Samantha) Cannon of Grand Haven and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services have taken place with burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
