Gene Worley, 85, of Farwell, passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, at North Woods Nursing Center in Farwell. A Funeral Mass for Gene will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Thomas Held presiding. The family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Gene was born Jan. 17, 1929, in Flint, son of the late Merideth and Florence (Helmer) Worley. He married Mary Cecelia McDonald on Sept. 18, 1965 at St. Dennis Church in Royal Oak. Gene was a self-employed painter. Survivors include three siblings, Gerald A. (Alice) Worley of Farwell, Mary Ripley of Virginia, and Collette Mushlock of Sparta; in-laws, Josie Worley, Leona McDonald, Barb McDonald, Marian McDonald, Leona McDonald, Marge (Ron) Stickney, Kathleen Kearney, Bob (Gail) McDonald, Ruth (Charles) Johnson, Evelyn (Cliff) Schmidt, and Sally McDonald; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary in 1998; three brothers, Merideth, Gale and Dale; infant brother, Harold; and sister, Crystal Weaver.
