Darlene Zueck, 86, of Holly passed away Monday, April 9, 2018, at Woodland Hospice House. Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass for Darlene will be celebrated at 12 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Father Tom Held as celebrant. Interment of her ashes will be in St. Joseph Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen (1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit MI 48207). Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Darlene was born November 25, 1931, in Detroit, daughter of the late Roy Lahey and Grace (Collett) Stegall. Her first and favorite job was as an operator for Western Union Telephone Company in Detroit. For the majority of her life, she was employed by Warwick Hills Country Club. Dar was a kind, sweet, loving person and friend to all who knew her. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life. Darlene is survived by three children, Barbara (Jack) Rau of Lake Isabella, Guy (Brenda) Zueck of Lansing, and Jacqueline Lyons of Grand Blanc; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brother, Jerry (Traude) Schwerzler of Belmont, CA; and sister-in-law, Nancy Swoboda of Manitowoc, WI. Many loving family & friends are left to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lahey and Grace (Collett) Stegall; grandparents, Percy and Clara Collett; infant son, Bernard Zueck; son Gene B. Zueck; brother, James Swoboda; and special brothers Jack (Peggy) Collett and Bill (Vivian) Collett.
