David Arthur Burmeister

David Arthur Burmeister, aged 79, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Saline, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Crestwood Village in Mt. Pleasant. Born on November 22, 1946, in Washtenaw County, he was the beloved son of the late Raymond Carl and Marguerite Christina (Buehler) Burmeister. David was the youngest of six children, growing up with his siblings Donald, Kenneth, Dorothy, Elsie, and Mary.

After graduating from Saline High School in 1965, David served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, remaining stateside. He married Mary Ann Duke, and together they were blessed with two sons, Norman and Dale. David dedicated 33 years of his career to the Ford Motor Company and spent most of his life in Saline, moving to Mt. Pleasant in 2022.

David had a passion for fishing, gardening, and yard work, often tending to the lawns of his neighbors and friends. His love for the outdoors and dedication to his community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Norman (Kelly) Burmeister of Lake Isabella and Dale (Kristine) Burmeister of Petoskey; and grandchildren, Spence, Bryce, and Tess.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marguerite Burmeister; and siblings, Donald Burmeister, Kenneth Burmeister, Dorothy Lindeman, Elsie Gransden, and Mary Burmeister.

A celebration of Dave's life will be held at a time and date to be announced.
