David Campbell, 57, of Mt. Pleasant died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2005 at home. His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Tony Waldrop of Glad Tidings Church officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the service begins. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. David was born Jan. 6, 1948 in Pontiac, the son of Levi and Lena (Smith) Campbell. He married Janice Graham Feb. 1, 1984 in Mt. Pleasant. He spent 16 years as a foreman with the city of Pontiac. In Mt. Pleasant he worked 12 years with American Cleaners and seven years with the Soaring Eagle Casino as a security guard. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam from 1967-1968 and immediately reenlisted for a second tour of duty lasting three years. David is survived by his wife Janice of Mt. Pleasant; seven children, Sheryl Leasher of Mt. Pleasant, George Scheffler of Ionia, Harry Medaris of Lansing, Diane Campbell of Pontiac, Jana (Harold) Wasek of Mt. Pleasant, Angela (Doug) Thrush of St. Louis, and David (Betty) Campbell of St. Louis; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers, Lynn (Doris) Campbell of South Carolina, Todd (Julie) Campbell of Waterford, Tim (Mary Margaret) Campbell of Waterford, and Bruce Campbell of Pontiac; two sisters, Judy (Mike) Figa of Clarkston and Doris (Rodney) of Okemos; two sisters-in-law, Gerri Campbell of Keego Harbor and Josephine Campbell of Waterford; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Larry and Chuck Campbell.
