David Lewis McArthur, age 69, of Weidman passed away on August 3, 2014 at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
David was born on February 13, 1945 to Eugene Orland and Edith Marie (Frantz) McArthur in Weidman. He was raised in the Weidman area and attended Weidman School. David married Doris E Donald on May 9, 1964 in Mt. Pleasant.David enjoyed camping and he had a passion for building things; but he especially loved playing cards. He worked most of his life as a carpenter.
David is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Doris; children, Diana (Ron Groh) McArthur and David McArthur; grandchildren, James Groh and Sydney and Madison McArthur; siblings, Jeanie (Ed Boetcher) McGuire, Cathy (Jim) VanSyckle, Larry McArthur, Tim (Mary Ellen) McArthur, and Rick (Dawn) McArthur and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Jean McArthur.
A Celebration of David's life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. at the Sherman Township Hall, 3550 N. Rolland Rd, Weidman. The family will meet with friends from 10:30 until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in David's memory to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the service.
