Dean Tilmann, 62, of Weidman, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. Dean was born September 22, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, son of the late Raymond and Irene (Fox) Tilmann. A 1973 graduate of Beal City High School, Dean married Katherine Ayris on September 27, 1986, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City. He was employed by Brad Malley Construction as a heavy equipment operator, retiring on October 13, 2017. Some of his favorite pastimes were deer hunting, fishing, horseshoes, and playing Euchre. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and teasing. Dean is survived by his wife of nearly 32 years, Kathy; three daughters, Kimberly (Nick) Sorensen of Chattanooga, TN, Kristina Tilmann of Shepherd, and Amber Tilmann of Weidman; siblings, Russell (Barb) Tilmann of Weidman, Rose Tilmann of Jackson, Anne (Ron) McDonald of Mt. Pleasant, Lola (Ed) Langlois of Shepherd, and Ami (Duane Orzol) Tilmann of Sacramento, CA; in-laws, Mike (Jackie) Ayris of Shepherd, John (Sue) Ayris of Blanchard, and Greg (Vicki) Ayris of Remus; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved canine, Sadie. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Dale Tilmann and Neal Tilmann. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 p.m. A celebration of Deans life will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 25, at the Tilmann home (6365 W. Airline Rd., Weidman). Memorial contributions may be made to HATS or charity of the donors choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
