Deborah T. Allen

Deborah Allen, 60, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at home with her family by her side. Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at Charles R. Lux Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., with Pastor Wayne Nicholson of St. Johns Episcopal Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Monday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Deborah was born Oct. 30, 1950, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of the late Henry T. and Mary Jane (Domine) Stanton. A graduate of Newaygo High School in 1968, Deb received her Associates Degree from Grand Rapids Junior College in 1970. She married Gary Allen on August 20, 1971, in Newaygo. She and her husband resided in Newaygo, Ada, and Clarklake before moving to Mt. Pleasant in 1997. She sacrificed her professional career by dedicating her life to her family Deb is survived by her husband of 39 years, Gary; three children, Christopher (Theresa Hill) Allen of Howell, Bradley (Wendy) Allen of Knoxville, TN and Julie Allen of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren, Emma Jane, Liliana Marie and Gavin William James; two sisters, Mary Lynne (Terry) Ploeg of Grandville and Kathleen (Daniel) Burgess of Allegan; nephew, Erik Burgess; and niece, Tara Hanna.
