Deborah L. Barr

Deborah Barr, 70, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022, at McLaren Medical Center.  Deb was born on July 10, 1952, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of  the late Edwin L. and Mary "Jo" (Yost) Barr. She graduated with the class of 1970 from Mount Pleasant High School. After High School Graduation Deb attended CMU with an emphasis on Art. Deb worked various jobs in the retail industry. After 20 years of service at Ric's Food Center Deb retired in 2018. Deb enjoyed fishing, bowling, technology, video games, and playing cards. Deb liked to watch sports, the Chicago Bulls were a favorite, along with watching wrestling. Deb was an avid science fiction reader, counting Stephen King and Ann McCaffrey as favorites. Deb is survived by her siblings, Nancy Barr of Georgetown, TX, and Gregg Barr of Traverse City; niece, Kendra (Adam) Wade of Lampasas, TX; nephew, Caleb Barr of Traverse City; great nieces, Aylyn Wade and Ellianna Barr; and great nephew, Asher Wade. She is preceded in death by both parents and her brother, Edwin "Larry" Barr II. Cremation has taken place with a planned celebration of life at a later date. Memorial contributions to honor Deb may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Isabella County Michigan, 201 East Pickard Street, Mt. Pleasant MI 48858.
