Delmar Titus, 84, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of New Mexico and Colorado passed away Sunday, October 28, 2007 at his home. Anyone acquainted with Delmar knows he was a true cowboy in every sense of the word. Cattle and horses were his life; family, friends, and a glass of rye made his life complete. Most notably, he has appeared in such motion pictures as Lonesome Dove and Silverado. In 1998 he was featured in the documentary, The Last Cowboys, which provided a historical look at cowboys whose golden age spanned the post-Civil War years to the turn of the century. He was very proud of serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Delmar is survived by four children, Landa (John) Fostich of Mt. Pleasant, Annette (Steve) Black of Salt Lake City, Utah, Timmy Titus of Texas, and Joe Titus of Texas; Jerry Harter of Lake Isabella; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shelba Surle.
