Delores Ann (Zamarron) Miller, age 86, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Dee was born on August 20, 1939, in Ashley, Michigan, the daughter of Paul and Tanila (Samaniego) Zamarron. She worked on the family dairy farm, graduated from Ovid High School, and moved to Lansing to pursue work. She met her husband, Bill Miller, at a Spring dance at the St. John Student Parish in East Lansing when Bill was a student at Michigan State University. Dee and Bill were married in October of 1960 at the Parish where they met. After living in Illinois and Wisconsin and adding four children to their family, they found a permanent home in Mt. Pleasant in 1968. Bill predeceased Dee in January of 2023 after 62 years of marriage.
Dee's most treasured time was spent with her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Dee was a dedicated volunteer at her children's schools, being awarded PTA Volunteer of the Year among other accolades. She worked on school carnivals, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, school plays, concerts, and other projects. Dee also worked for CMU's Student Medical Services and Administration. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Irishtown and cheerfully served as a Greeter and Eucharistic Minister. After Bill retired and established Papa's Pumpkin Patch, Dee used her artistic skills to paint signage and decorate. She also took great joy in handing out candy and singing carols as Mrs. Santa Claus when the Farm was decorated for Christmas. Relating best to youngsters, Dee had fun with her grandchildren and enjoyed traveling with them as well as encouraging their various sports, music, dance, and academic endeavors. Her grandchildren could do no wrong!
Surviving are her four children, Sandra (Michael) Cotter of East Lansing, William Miller, Jr. (Laurie) of Mt. Pleasant, Robert Miller of Waterford, and Debra Schultz of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren, Maria Cotter, Hayleigh Miller, Kristyn Miller, Robby Miller, Andrea Miller, Evan Miller, William Schultz, and Madeleine Shultz; siblings, Ellen Perritt, Ella Conarton, Paul Zamarron, and Jan (Tom) Shick. She joins her siblings Rudy Zamarron, Josephine Stebbins, Julie Schanski, Pauline Crandall, and Rosalyn Keyes in Heaven.
