Denise Geralyn Daniels, of Mt. Pleasant was born March 29, 1957 in Howell, Michigan, passed away peacefully at McLaren Hospital on Friday, August 27 with her loving family by her side. Denise resided at the McVey Street Home in Mt. Pleasant for the last 21 years. She was dearly loved by other residents over the years along with the wonderful staff. She was always known for her loving nature and bright spirit. Her Downs Syndrome condition never stopped her from doing so many of the things that she loved to do. Her witty nature and tremendous sense of humor endeared her to everyone that she met along her journey. She is survived by her sister and best pal Judi (Tom) Sullivan, nephew Tom Sullivan and niece Shannon (Nick Kilpela) Sullivan. She is also survived by her sister Susan Daniels (Ken) Legacki, and nephews Matthew and Daniel (Kaitlyn) Legacki, and niece Caitlin Legacki. She was preceded in death by her sister Kathryn Fowler and her parents Wendell (Spike) and Bernice Daniels, along with many aunts and uncles who also loved her dearly. A memorial service for Denise will held on Wednesday, September 1 at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant at 4 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A Celebration of Life Open House will continue from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cheers Neighborhood Grill & Bar with food and beverages (Denise's favorite restaurant where so many memories were made) at 1700 West High Street in Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Denise's memory be made to Central Michigan Non-Profit Housing, PO Box 631, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48804-0631 which administers The McVey Street Home, where she spent so many happy years.
