Denise Rachel Morri

On Monday, September 12, 2022, at the age of 67, Denise Rachel Morri passed away peacefully at home after a long fight with cancer. She was born to Serafino and Annette Morri in Detroit, MI. She was a 1973 graduate of Kennedy High School in Taylor, MI. In May of 1975, she married Roger Dagenais and had 2 beautiful daughters in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. In 1989, she and her family moved to Union City, MI to live near her sister, brother, and parents. In 1998, Denise and Roger divorced. In May of 2018, Denise was diagnosed with Small Cell Lung Cancer and, at that point, her life expectancy would only be about 18 months. In May of 2021, the cancer metastasized to her brain. By Christmas it had gone to her liver. In April 2022, she successfully endured brain surgery only to find that the tumor on her liver had grown exponentially in August 2022. Unfortunately, there was nothing more the doctors could do for her. Denise went on hospice at home on August 20, 2022. Through all of this, she never suffered and was never in any pain. She kept on living her life as normal as possible. We were incredibly blessed for the miracle of having her for over 4 years. Denise was always the family caretaker helping with her paternal grandmother, father, mother, sister and brother-in-law. Throughout the years, she had helped out and was "e; Mom & quote; to many of her daughters' friends. She loved and accepted people for who they were and would help them any way she could, whether it was a meal, a place to stay or even a job. Denise was an avid reader and loved spending time with her two young grandsons. Denise is survived by her daughters, Jamie Dagenais; Jenny (Sam) Cary; two young grandsons, Bene and Gus Cary; brother, Mike (David) Morri; niece, Lindsay (Keith) Moore; extended family and countless friends. Denise is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Diane; brother-in-law, Lionel Masse. In honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
