Diane Wagner, 71, of Brighton, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Green Acres Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant. Diane was born October 25, 1950, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Daniel Edward and Florence Adeline (Smith) Wagner. After graduating from Clarkston High School in 1969, Diane earned her bachelor's degree from Michigan State University. She was employed by the State of Michigan and began her career in mental health. She changed her career in 1984 to a program analyst in information technology. Retiring from the State of Michigan in 2002. Diane loved animals. She also enjoyed photography, woodworking, gardening, and traveling. Upon retiring, she enjoyed spending time in her Brighton home, Lake home and Florida. Diane's love for music was accentuated by her singing and piano playing. Important to Diane was the time she spent with her family and friends. She leaves behind, Helen Reihl of Lake; brother, Daniel Wagner of New Mexico; nieces, Jody (Todd Prusakiewicz) Wagner and Laurie (Tim) Roux; Helen's siblings and in-laws, Rose Sheahan of Lake, Peggy Reihl of Mt. Pleasant, Vera (Ron) Bollman of Mt. Pleasant, Howard Reihl of Lake, Ed (Annette) Reihl of Lake, and Joe Reihl of Weidman; and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers in-law, Harold Reihl and James Sheahan. Diane's funeral will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, October 14, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with her cousin, Pastor Mark Wagner, officiating. The service will be live streamed and available to watch on the funeral home's Facebook page or by clicking "watch funeral" . Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City concluding with a luncheon at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Promedica Hospice or to the wishes of the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
