Dixie Gallagher, 81, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Woodland Hospice House. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 13, at Zion Lutheran Church, 3401 E. River Rd., with Pastor Benjamin Ulledalen officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery concluding with a luncheon at the church. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church Pre-School. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Dixie was born August 31, 1936, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Delmar C. and Hazel M. (Block) Harless. She married Edward Gallagher on December 26, 1964 at Sacred Heart Parish. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching nature, telling jokes, country music, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a hard worker, not only raising her children, but helping her husband, Edward, on the farm. Dixie is survived by her two children, Michael (Anne) Harless of Lake George, Julie Gallagher (Bill Sian) of Mt. Pleasant; three granddaughters, Jessica Harless, Jacquelyn Gallagher, and Angel Sian; two great granddaughters, Brooklyn Harless and Adalynn Andersen; five siblings, Marilyn Judy Webber of Mt. Pleasant, Joan Brocki of North Carolina, Virginia Williams of California, Richard (Janice) Harless of Mt. Pleasant, and Larry (Grace) Harless of Clarksville, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delmar and Hazel Harless; husband, Edward Gallagher; daughter, Janice Gallagher; and siblings, Robert Harless, Gary Harless, and Helen Dawn Keller.
