Dolores A. Frick, 72, of Bear Lake and formerly of Mt. Pleasant died Saturday, August 2, 2003 at her home in Bear Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation or St. Joseph The Worker Church. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Dolores was born December 21, 1930, in Beal City, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Thielen) Schafer. She married Carl Frick on February 14, 1953, at St. Philomena Church in Beal City. She was valedictorian of the 1948 Beal City High School class. She also attended Aquinas College for two years. When Dolores lived in Mt. Pleasant she was a very active member of Sacred Heart Parish where she served on the altar society. She has been living in Bear Lake since 1994 and prior to that she was a resident of Manistee from 1987-1994. Dolores is survived by six children, Joseph (Trudie) Frick of Lansing, Hedwig Frick of Urbana, OH, Thomas (Marianne) Frick of Rosebush, Molly (Ron) Riley of Paw Paw, Betty (Abbas) Bahadori of Silver Springs, MD and Steve (Jenni) Frick of Midland; her former husband, Carl (Ruth) Frick of Mt. Pleasant; 14 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one sister, Clara Mae (Joseph) Quillen of Mt. Pleasant; five brothers, Bernard Schafer of Gladwin, Eugene (Linda) Schafer, Stephen (Irene) Schafer of Mecosta, Philip (Judy) Schafer of Caledonia and Willard (Shirley) Schafer of Cadillac; one sister-in-law, Mary Schafer of Kentwood; one brother-in-law, Robert Clark of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Martha Schafer and Theresa Clark; and one brother, Virgil Schafer. The Frick family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the loving care given to Dolores by the staff of Wildwood Home and by the many others who, over the years loved and cared for her.
