Donald E. Adams, 48, of Weidman, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2009, at Baptist Hospital in Newport, TN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City with Father Thomas McNamara presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Donald was born March 2, 1961, in Detroit, the son of the late Raymond and Joann (Olszewski) Adams. He married Donna Gierc on Nov. 9, 1985, in Sterling Heights. He was employed by Smelser Roofing in Roseville until 1985 and then worked for Chrysler in Sterling Heights until an automobile accident forced him to retire in 1988.He enjoyed bingo, fishing, camping, and traveling to Tennessee. Donald especially loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the sons of the VFW and the Knights of Columbus, and St. Joseph The Worker Parish. Donald is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Sarah Adams of Dearborn Heights; two brothers, Raymond J. (Gay) Adams of Plano, TX, and Paul (Julie) Adams of Green Oaks, IL; two sisters, Francine (Steve) Molicky of Traverse City, and Carol (Jim) Risher of Sunnyvale, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
