Donald G. Soules

Don Soules, 39, of Beal City and formerly of Mt. Morris, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 26, 2010, in Big Rapids. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church with Father David Jenuwine presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Michigan Community Hospital, St. Joseph The Worker School, or Mecosta County Medical Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Don was born March 3, 1971, in Flint, the son of Don and Susan (McMahon) Soules. A graduate of Mt. Morris School (1989-1990) Don enlisted in U.S. Army and later re-enlisted in the Army Reserves. He married Tara Schafer on May 31, 1997, at St. Joseph The Worker Church in Beal City. Their daughter, Sydney, was born Oct. 8, 2002. He was employed by Sherwin Williams as a manager for over 15 years in Big Rapids. He enjoyed electronics, building computers, and participating in triathlons. He was also an outdoor enthusiast. But most dear to him was his family. Don is survived by his wife and beautiful daughter, Tara and Sydney of Beal City; parents, Don Soules of Mt. Morris and Sue Soules of Swartz Creek; sister, April (Pat) McKervey of Swartz Creek and their children, Taylor, Tori and Peyton; sister, Amanda (Larry) Coltura of Pittsburgh, PA and their daughters, Bethany, Brenna, Anna, and Janae; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Randy and Joyce Schafer of Beal City; and his brothers-in-law, Brian Schafer of Beal City and Chad (Jodi) Schafer of St. Johns and their daughters, Ella and Ashlyn. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
