Donna Boge, 85, of Beal City passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Mass for Donna will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Father Ricky Varner as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with a luncheon to conclude at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. The family will receive friends in the gathering room of the church on Friday from 3-8 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday one hour prior to Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph the Worker Church or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Donna was born January 4, 1932, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Gilbert G. and Ulah (Welch) Recker. She married Victor Boge on June 4, 1949 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. She was employed as a journeyman chef in Barnes kitchen on the campus of CMU for 36 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish and its Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, canning, and her favorite season was Christmas which she celebrated with all her family. Donna is survived by her husband, Victor; four children, Mary Boge of Mt. Pleasant, Robert Boge of Ithaca, Sandra Boge of Beal City and Brian (Sandy) Boge of Beal City; daughter-in-law, Janet Boge of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Melissa, Carrie, Mandy, Kattie, Joshua, Kristopher, and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Alex, Ben, Rosie, Mari, Phoebe, Merek, Charlie, Henry, and William; siblings, Clarence (Onalee) Recker of Weidman, Larry (Karen) Recker of Alma, Bill (Wilda) Recker of Stevenson Lake, Betty (Ron) Wawersik of Weidman, and Joan Yuncker of Lake Isabella; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Ulah Recker; four children, Linda Boge, Ron Boge, Vickie Boge and Terrie Boge; siblings, Gerald Recker, Robert Recker, Agnes Riley, and Shirley Ayris.
