Dora Rosalin "Rosie" Warner
Dora Rosalin "Rosie" Warner, age 89, of Weidman went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 31, 2017.
Rosie as most of her family and friends called her was born on January 20, 1928 to Floyd B and Muriel E (Shaw) Bush in Blanchard, MI. Rosie grew up in the Blanchard area and attended the local area schools. She married John W Warner in January of 1948 at Mecosta. He preceded her in death in 1982. She was the first female bus driver in Isabella County for the Weidman Schools. Crocheting, embroidering, baking bread, reading to the children and singing in the church choir were her most cherished moments. Rosie loved being a classroom grandparent for the Foster Grandparent Program for Weidman Schools. Rosie was a member of the Weidman United Methodist Church and she served on the Pastor Parish Committee.
Rosie leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lanny Warner of Midland, LynAnn Leonard of Weidman, Amy Jo (Bernie) Bierschbach of Beal City, Toby (Dawn) Warner of Lake and Gary (Theresa) Warner of Midland; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 540 foster grandchildren through 18 years with the foster grandparent program; 1 brother, Donald (Vivian) Bush of Blanchard and numerous nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.
Rosie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Timothy B. Warner; and siblings, L.D. Bush, Beatrice Aldrich, Fred Bush, Opel Warner, Ken Bush, and Barbara Frederickson.
Funeral services for Rosie are scheduled on Monday, August 7, 2017 at11:00 a.m at the Weidman United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott B Smith officiating. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. at the Maier Family Funeral Home and also prior to the funeral service from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church. Interment will take place following the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mecosta.
Memorial donation in Rosie's honor can be made to the Weidman United Methodist Church or Hartland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
