Dorellen Elizabeth Smith-Belleau

Dorellen Elizabeth Smith-Belleau, 65, of Remus, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021, at Woodland Hospice. She was born November 13, 1955, in Clare, Michigan, daughter of the late Arthur and Marian (Hart) Smith. She graduated from Kentucky Mountain Bible High School and then graduated from the Kentucky Mountain Bible College. Dorellen also graduated from Central Michigan University in 1981 with a major in English. She married David Belleau at Blanchard Weslyan Church on August 27, 1983.  She and David remained "lovebirds" throughout their marriage.  She worked as a Library Assistant at Wheatland Township Library and substitute taught at the Junior High and High School level in various schools. Dorellen knew Jesus as her Savior. She very faithfully prayed for others, had compassion toward lonely people, and had many pen pals.   Dorellen was  a great listener and understanding towards others. She loved  animals, especially cats. Dorellen enjoyed nature, was frugal and knew a lot about natural nutrition and herbs.  She was a daddy's girl and had a special bond with her father.  She was a hopeless romantic towards her husband.   Dorellen is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, David; sisters, Ava Smith of Kentucky, Genevieve (Lewis) Weeber of Fremont, Michigan, and Eunice (Bill) Lockwood of Virginia; and nieces and nephews, Warren, Connie, Brenda, Phil, Steve, Esther, and Wayne; and five cats. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Edward Smith. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date.  To leave a condolence for the family or to sign the online guest book please visit www.CharlesRLux.com.
