Doris Zuker, 88, of Beal City, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at Prestige Centre, with her family by her side. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, September 21, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City with Father Thomas Held as celebrant. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7:30 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues in the gathering room of the church on Friday one hour prior to Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery with a luncheon following at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Isabella County Commission on Aging, Alzheimers Association, or Heartland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Doris was born April 30, 1930, in Clare, Michigan, daughter of the late Floyd Edward and Myrtle (Wahl) Spicer. On March 31, 1951, she married Edward J. Zuker at St. Philomena Church in Beal City. Doris loved working with her hands. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, baking bread, decorating cakes, painting beautiful pictures, and sewing baby blankets. Doris was Henna the Clown with Heart of Michigan Clowns. A member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Doris belonged to the Beal City Council of Catholic Women and the Council of Christian Women. Doris is survived by 10 children, Robert (Marlene) Zuker of Mt. Pleasant, Ruth (Bradley) Walch of Canadian Lakes, John (Paula) Zuker and Chris (Doug) Garrett, both of Farwell, Theresa Zuker of Mt. Pleasant, Kathy Zuker of Beal City, Susan (Dan) Cook of Shepherd, Helen (Larry) Shanteau of Indianapolis, IN, Kelly (Scott) Miller of Mt. Pleasant and Don (Brigitte) Zuker of Beal City; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean (Larry) Bole of Farwell, and Janice (Ed) Tomaski of Clare; in-laws, Shirley Spicer, Joyce Spicer, Betty Spicer, and Elmer Gingery; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; son, Edward Jr.; infant daughter, Angelica; brothers, Ed, Ray, John, Bill, Jerry, Donald, Robert, and Larry Spicer; and sisters, Susie Bole and Dorothy Dot Gingery.
