Dorothy Anderson, 100 of Lake, Mi. passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility.  Dorothy was born on May 1, 1922, daughter of the late Stanley and Rose (Ignasiak) Smalarz in Detroit.  She married Zigmond Anderson on August 3, 1946, at the St. Hyacinth Church in Detroit.   Dorothy spent 25 years working in retail at the JL Hudson (Macy's) Store.  She was a seamstress and enjoyed creating garments for herself, children/grandchildren.  She learned the art of Swedish weaving and made blankets/throws for her family.  Always attended Bingo with friends where she lived or when she visited family down State.  On Wednesdays she would attend a luncheon and listen to music with friends in Weidman, Mi.  She loved to watch the birds that came to her feeders, especially the hummingbirds.  She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Weidman.  Her children would like to say, "We love you, Mom.  You will always remain in our hearts!!"  Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Corinne Anderson of Battle Creek and Laura Anderson of Eastpointe; three grandchildren, Amy Dougherty, Meredith (Anderson) Blake, and Margaret Anderson; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Porcelli III and Bryson Blake; sister, Delphine Williams; and daughter in-law, Barbara Anderson.  She is preceded in death by both parents; husband, Zigmond; and son, Melvin.  Dorothy will be interred in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with a private family service.  To sign the online guest book or leave a condolence for the family please visit www.CharlesRLux.com.
