Dorothy C. Carroll, 83, of Mt. Pleasant died Wednesday, June 18, 2003 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Monday from 10-11 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a contribution in Dorothys name to Sacred Heart Church or Hospice of Central Michigan. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Dorothy was born August 22, 1919, in Beal City, the daughter of Joseph and Pearl (Bennett) Martin. She married Lloyd E. Carroll on February 5, 1938 at Sacred Heart Church Dorothys life centered around her faith. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and the altar society. Her days were filled with cooking, cleaning, baking and caring for her husband and family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and good friend. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Lloyd Carroll of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Dorothy Ann (Gary) Cole of Mt. Pleasant, Susan (Robert) Wender of Toledo, OH, and Marilyn (Norm) Assmann of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Joseph (Janis) Carroll of Mt. Pleasant and David (Monica) Carroll of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Mark and Scott Cole, Laurie Watson, Terrie House, Rene Tiejema, Steven and Brian Assmann, William, Michael and Kathrine Carroll, and Erika and Stephanie Carroll; great grandchildren, Emily, Katie, and Hannah Cole, Sam and Taylor Cole, and Joseph and Lauren Watson; two sisters-in-law, Lena Martin of Riverdale and Betty Jo Martin of Weidman; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Carroll; three brothers, Woodrow, William, and Joseph; and four sisters, Cora, Alma, Genevieve, and Evelyn.
