Dorothy Germain

Dorothy Germain, age 91, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility, surrounded by her family. Born on March 18, 1933, in Rosebush, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of the late Henry and Josephine (Dora) Wentworth. One of 18 children, Dorothy was welcomed into the home by Mabel, Howard, Earl, Agnes, Ed, and Robert. She would welcome her younger siblings, Frank, Leonard, Annabell (Sister Josepha), Andrew, Thomas, Gene, Fern, and Clair 'Butch'. Dorothy married Robert A. Germain on October 6, 1952, at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Rosebush, and they enjoyed many wonderful years together until his passing in 2000.

For 45 years, Dorothy dedicated her career to furniture upholstery, showcasing her skills as a talented seamstress. She found joy in sewing and cake decorating, and her love for her family was evident in the cherished moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy's memory will be treasured by her children and all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert (Suely) Germain of Irmo, South Carolina, Victoria Wonch of Mt. Pleasant, and Gige (Larry) Snyder; grandchildren, Jeremy Wonch, Mindy Jetter, Amanda (Pavel) Dey, Jessicia Germain, Jodi (David) Ballington, Angela Germain, Melody (Caitlin) Germain; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Zoey, Alex, Emily, Naomi, Lee, Dylan, and Luke; siblings, Agnes Akers of Mesa, AZ, Frank (Pat) Wentworth of Mesa, AZ, Gene Wentworth of Clare, and Fern White of Clare; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Germain; and 13 siblings.
