Dorothy A. Stahl

Dorothy A. Stahl, 71, of Mt. Pleasant died Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 12th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne officiating. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil service beginning at 3 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday from 9-10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan or to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the service or at the funeral home. Dorothy was born July 7, 1930, in Beal City, the daughter of Vernon and Louise (Miller) Simmer. She married Stanley Stahl September 27, 1947 at Sacred Heart. She spent 23 years working as the Deputy Clerk for Isabella County Register of Deeds. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and a member of the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge. Dorothy enjoyed gardening. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Cathy McAfee of Melbourne, FL; son, Duane Stahl of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Otto, Julie (Dylon) Zehr, Melinda Stahl, Katie Millen and Michael Millen; three great grandchildren, Jessica and Scottie Otto and Brock Zehr; sister, Vada Fox Cross of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley Stahl; son, Gary Stahl; and daughter, Sue Ann Stahl.
