Dorothy Walton, 92, of Rosebush, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011, at Central Michigan Community Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Tuesday, May 17, at St. Henrys Catholic Church in Rosebush with Father Don Henkes presiding. Burial will be in St. Henrys Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd., on Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Tuesday one hour prior to the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice, Love Inc., or St. Henrys/St. Charles Parish. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Dorothy was born June 4, 1918, in Rosebush, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Prout) McReavy. She married Alvin Walton on Nov. 10, 1936, at St. Henrys Church and worked hand-in-hand with him on the family farm. She was a lifelong member of St. Henrys. Some of Dorothys favorite pastimes were crocheting, feeding her calves, cooking, and baking. Her family was very important to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by two children, Bob Walton and Judy Denslow both of Rosebush; eight grandchildren, Trevor Walton, Amy (Phil) Vogel, Wendy (Lenn) Wixson, Hedlun (Stephanie) Walton, Dallas (Maureen) Walton, Jeremy (Angie) Denslow, Joel (Lori) Denslow and Carrie Denslow; 18 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Yvonne (Joe) Phinney; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin in 1999; three brothers, Leo, James, and Earl McReavy; and her sister, Mary Ethel Brown.
