Douglas A. Mccoy

Douglas A. McCoy, 50, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2002 in Mt. Pleasant. His memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Central Assembly of God, 2445 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 until service time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to his children, Justin and Megan McCoy. Envelopes will be available at Lux Funeral Home or at the church. Doug was born December 22, 1951, in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of Donald and Margie (Moore) McCoy. He was employed as a plant engineer at Owens-Illinois, Kerr Glass and Anchor Glass over a period of twenty years. More recently, he was the owner of C.M. Quality First Painting. Doug was an avid fly-fisherman and spent many contented hours on the Betsie River in northern Michigan. He also enjoyed golf and landscape gardening. He was a long-time member of Alcoholics Anonymous and acquired many special friends as a result. His family is greatly appreciative of their support and kindness. Doug leaves behind his children, Justin McCoy and Megan McCoy and their mother, Kathleen McCoy, all of Mt. Pleasant; parents, Donald and Margie McCoy of Lakeland, Fla.; sister, LouAnn (Harold) Perkins of Plant City, Fla; brother, Craig (Corky) McCoy of Lakeland, Fla; grandmother, Ossie V. McCoy of Fairmont, W. Va.; daughter from his first marriage, Heather McCoy of Florida; and many nieces. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather; and his maternal grandparents.
