Edna M. Davis, 88, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008 at St. Marys Hospital in Saginaw surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a vigil at 3:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the Mass begins. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella County Commission on Aging or Veterans Memorial Library. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Edna was born Feb. 1, 1920 in Beal City, the daughter of Henry and Pauline (Schafer) Boge. She married Glenn Davis June 1, 1942. A graduate of Beal City High School, Edna worked for over 20 years at the Department of Social Services. She retired as a supervisor in 1979. She was the former president of S.E.R.A., a board member of the Commission on Aging, and served on the Catholic Daughters. She was an avid Detroit Tiger fan and enjoyed sewing, crafts, crossword puzzles, traveling, reading, gardening, and genealogy. Edna is survived by five children, Patricia (Roger) Peterson of Swartz Creek, Laura Godwin of Saginaw, Kay Davis of Roper, NC, Carol Davis of Mt. Pleasant and David (Maura) Davis of Cherryville, NC; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a third on its way; and a brother, Vic (Donna) Boge of Beal City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn in 1997; son-in-law, Mike Godwin in 1999; two brothers, John and Joe Boge; and six sisters, Albina Rau, Eleanor Weber, Clara Rose, Henrietta Schmidt, Leona Pasch, and Marian Trager.
