Edward Hoffman, 71, of Mt. Pleasant died Sunday, January 26, 2003 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 30, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Craig Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. There will be a vigil service at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Visitation continues at the church on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Ed was born December 9, 1931, in Shepherd, the son of Vincent and Mary (Siebeneck) Hoffman. He married Clara Voisin on April 16, 1955 at Sacred Heart Church. Ed served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was stationed in Greenland. He was a pipefitter and plumber for Dow Chemical, retiring in 1987. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. His pride and joy was his golden retriever, Misty. Ed is survived by his wife of 47 years, Clara Hoffman of Mt. Pleasant, one son, Rick (Ying) Hoffman of Rancho Palos Verdes, Ca.; one daughter, Karen (Chris) Herin of Trenton; two grandchildren, Gabrielle and Alexander; four brothers, Bob Hoffman of St. Louis, Tom (Mary Jo) Hoffman of Mt. Pleasant, Alex Bud Hoffman of Constantine and Ron (Pat) Hoffman of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Doris Allen of South Lebanon, OH, Jane Poag of Saginaw, and Teresa (Edward) Recker of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Mary Hoffman.
