Eileda Brooks, 77, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016, at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. A Funeral Mass for Eileda will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Fred Kawka as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday one hour prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association or American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Eileda was born Feb. 7, 1939, in St. Louis, MI, daughter of the late Harry and Henrietta (Siefker) Moeggenborg. A 1957 graduate of Shepherd High School, Eileda married Daniel Brooks on Sept. 3, 1960, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Shepherd. There was nothing more important to Eileda than her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. Eileda is survived by her husband of 55 years, Daniel; two children Shelley (Donald) Pohl of Oxford and Kim (Carol) Brooks of Hemlock; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Alexander) Hope, Samantha (Dennis) Wallace, and D. Alexander (Amber) Pohl, and Michael Brooks and Nathan Brooks; five great-grandchildren with one on the way; three siblings, Garald (Grace) Moeggenborg of Portland, Marilyn Klein of Commerce Township, and Gene (Monica) Moeggenborg of Greenville; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Moeggenborg of Shepherd; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Clarice Decker, Evelyn Turner, Ronald Moeggenborg and two others in infancy.
