Elaine Maxine Brooks

Elaine Brooks, 91, of Weidman passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Medical Care Facility. A cemetery service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, in the mausoleum of Deepdale Cemetery in Lansing. Elaine was born August 27, 1926, in Pontiac MI, daughter of the late Ralph and Elsie (Forbes) Watkins. Elaine is survived by four children, Donna (Paul) Horton of Choteau, MT, Joyce Lahti of Weidman, Donald H. Brooks of Lansing, and Jo Barragan of Weidman; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Gerry (Dale) Melvin of East Lansing; two half-siblings, Gary (Ellen) Watkins of Freemont, and Cindee (Bob) Babel of Traverse City; her significant other of 40 years, Pete Burgess; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Brooks in 1975; and three siblings. The Brooks family extends a special thank you to Anna Carr Walton and the staff at the Medical Care Facility for all the care they have provided to Elaine.
