Elizabeth Endres, 91, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Woodland Hospice House. A Funeral Mass for Betty will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski as celebrant. A luncheon will immediately follow at Sacred Heart Parish Hall concluding with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Beal City. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Academy Foundation, Commission on Aging or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Betty was born October 2, 1926, in Mt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Coughlin) Block. A 1944 graduate of Beal City High School, Betty married James. J. Endres on May 4, 1946, at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Beal City. She was a stay-at-home mom for much of her life, but also worked as an accountant for 20 years for several accounting firms. She retired in 1988. Betty spent most of her retirement years with her husband Jim at Higgins Lake, where they were host to their children, grandchildren and many friends. In 2000 they moved back to Mt. Pleasant to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Betty was a member of Sacred Heart Parish where she served on several committees. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Mt. Pleasant Business Professional Women. Betty is survived by four children, Daniel Endres of Weidman, Roxanne Gruss (Ed Mumford) of Mt. Pleasant, Debra Mallak of Austin, TX, and Lionel Endres of Mt. Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; in-law, Bill Beltinck of Rosebush, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marie Block; husband, James Endres; son, Bernard Mitchell Endres; and siblings, Stanley, Don, Richard and Lionel Block and Mildred Ruhle, Wenonah Beltinck.
