Elizabeth Lopez

Elizabeth Lopez, 45, of Mt. Pleasant passed away unexpectedly, Friday, Dec. 1, 2006 at her home. Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Lux Funeral Home with Father Thomas J. McNamara officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service begins. Elizabeth was born Feb. 25, 1961 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Emilio and Vicenta (Rodriguez) Lopez. She was employed as a direct care worker at Listening Ear and also worked as a cashier at the Soaring Eagle Casino. She enjoyed reading, walking, and star-gazing. She was a wonderful cook and had volunteered much of her time at the soup kitchen. Elizabeth is survived by her mother, Vicenta Lopez of Mt. Pleasant; six brothers, Antonio Lopez and Eddie (Gloria) Lopez, both of Tucson, AZ, and Jesse (Joanne) Lopez, Rudy Lopez, Richard Lopez, and Mike Lopez, all of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Martha (Jerry) Garcia, Irene (Rolan) Garcia, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Diane (Rick) Shawano of Tucson, AZ; her boyfriend, Ernest Harris of Mt. Pleasant and 20 nieces nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Emilio; and two sisters, Guadalupe McKeen and Christina Lopez.
