Elizabeth Lois Miller

Elizabeth Lois Miller, 80, affectionately known as "Liz", passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center Midland with her family by her side.

Liz was born on October 17, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late John and Lois (Fontaine) Moerlins. A 1963 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Liz married David Miller on May 23, 1964, in Isabella County, Michigan. She graduated from Delta College with a nursing degree. She was employed by Central Michigan Community Hospital, then the orthopedic office of Dr. Keating and Dr. Lilly, and finally at Tendercare of Mt. Pleasant.

She served on the Mt. Pleasant School Board and RESD of Mt. Pleasant and was on the inaugural committee of the Mt. Pleasant Sports Boosters. She enjoyed crafting, making porcelain dolls, cooking, watching movies, playing video games with her grandchildren, and was a huge fan of Star Trek. Most importantly, she loved her family, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren.

She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, David Miller of Mt. Pleasant; daughters, Christian (Jeff) Kennedy of Chatham, Andrea Wentworth (Kyle Russell) of Mt. Pleasant and Margaret (Jeff) Hovey of Rosebush; grandchildren, Jay Kennedy, Andrew (Laci) Kennedy and Casey Kennedy, Lexi (Barton) Stafford, Ashton Krasinski, and Trueman Wentworth, and Brody (Fiancée, Layla Cummings) Hovey, Beau Hovey, MacCoy Hovey, and Reddek Hovey; great-grandchildren, Caul and Scarlett Kennedy, Jetta, Ellis, and Wrenn Stafford, Nova Krasinski, and twins, Sterling and Atlas Krasinski; sisters in-law, Emily Moerlins, Debbie Moerlins, Barbara Miller, and Bonnie Kerney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lois (Fontaine) Moerlins; son in-law, Brian Wentworth; and brothers John Moerlins and Michael Moerlins.

Liz's memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 1, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with her grandson, Casey Kennedy, officiating. A luncheon will follow in Lincoln Reception Center (attached to the funeral home). Her cremains will be laid to rest in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
