Ella Yuncker, 100, of Beal City passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008 at the Isabella County Medical Care Facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at St. Joseph The Worker Church with Father Thomas J. McNamara presiding and Deacon Larry Fussman assisting. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 2-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday from 1-2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph The Worker Church or School. Envelopes will be available at the church or at the Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home. Ella was born June 23, 1908, in Westphalia, the daughter of Joseph and Ida (Fox) Smith. She was in the first graduating class of St. Philomena High School in 1925. While in high school she played the church organ. On April 10, 1928 she married the late Herbert Yuncker at St. Philomena Church. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling and fishing. As a homemaker she raised her five children on the farm. Family was important to her and she was very blessed to have her many grandchildren. Ella is survived by four children, Richard (Joyce) Yuncker, Arlene (Donald) Cotter, Dolores (Donald) Krueger, and LaVern (Linda) Yuncker, all of Beal City; daughter-in-law, Joan Yuncker of Lake Isabella; 28 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Walter (Johanna) Smith of Beal City; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert in 1986; son, Evan in 2001; two grandchildren, Diane Krueger in 1975, Brian Yuncker in 1960; one great-grandson, Ryan Cotter in 1992; and four brothers, Ed, Leo, Robert, and Harold Smith.
