Eloise Theisen, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at Woodland Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Loren Kalinowski presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Monday one hour prior to Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Academy Foundation, Commission on Aging, or Woodland Hospice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Eloise was born July 7, 1919, in Isabella County, the daughter of the late Charles A. and Agnes J. (Daniels) Marz. She married the late Clifford Theisen on Feb. 21, 1940, at Sacred Heart. She enjoyed playing cards and volunteering. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. Eloise is survived by three daughters, Connie (Duane) Tripp of Montrose, Denice (Gary) Carroll of Clarkston and Mary Jo (John) Tobias of Spartanburg, SC; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, William Marz of Grand Rapids; sister, Thelma Walker of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford in 1968; four sisters, Marian Reid, Helen Smith, Rita Hauck and Margaret Theisen; and two brothers, Charles and James Marz.
