Emilie Jean (Garrett) Johnson

Emilie Jean (Garrett) Johnson journeyed home on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 after a brave and bold fight through the waves of her Cancer diagnosis. Her loved ones remember her for her fiery and unbreakable spirit that led her on many adventures through life, always trusting that she would be met with comfort and grace. She loved cooking and recipes, gardening, playing the piano, visiting with friends and family, and traveling, being able to make her dream of meeting the mountains a reality.

She was hungry for knowledge on the human experience, a competitive and merciless Scrabble player, and a strong, patient, generous, and infinitely loving mother. She was faithful, reminding all that called that "God is with us". She was preceded in death and met with love by her beloved son Neal Martin, her husband Bob Johnson, her parents Charles (Bud) and Mina Garrett, and her sister Janet Leiter.

She is survived by her daughter Sharyl (Shari) Martin, her sisters Annita and Sheila, her brothers Charlie, Delbert, Ben, John, and Joe and all the lives she touched throughout her 72 years.

A memorial luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, July 29th at Deerfield Township Hall 3032 S. Winn Rd Mount Pleasant MI from 12-4PM. All are invited to share memories, laughs, and love over the full life of a truly courageous and exquisite woman.
