Emily S. Falsetta, 88, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at Tendercare in Mt. Pleasant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Robert Byrne presiding. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Friday from 2-8 p.m. with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday from 1-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Michigan or Sacred Heart Parish. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Emily was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Lansing, the daughter of Abraham and Mary Hadad. She married Anthony P. Falsetta on Nov. 28, 1945 in Lansing. While raising four children, she and her husband co-owned Falsettas Casa Nova restaurant from 1945-1972, along with partners Thomas and Lillian Falsetta. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, the Catholic Daughters, and volunteered for the ladies auxiliary at Central Michigan Community Hospital. Some of her favorite pastimes were cooking, reading, and crossword puzzles. Emily is survived by her four children, Joseph (Sandy) Falsetta and Anthony (Debbie) Falsetta, both of Mt. Pleasant, Rosemary (Randy) Carson of Farwell, and Rick (Jeana) Falsetta of Mt. Pleasant; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, with one on the way; a sister-in-law, Lillian Falsetta of Mt. Pleasant; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Falsetta of Lansing and Sam Falsetta of Mecosta. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Anthony in 1987; two brothers, Mike and Charlie Hadad; and two sisters, Rose Farhat and Elizabeth Elders.
