Eric Keith Sehlke passed away unexpectedly on June 3rd, 2025, at the age of 40, at his residence. His family is heartbroken by his sudden death. Eric was born on October 3rd, 1984.
He is forever cherished and remembered by his girlfriend, Nalleli Hernandez; his mother, Cheryl Devereaux; his father, Tracy Sehlke and his wife, Belinda; and his brothers, Chad Sehlke, Devin Devereaux, and William Devereaux. His memory also lives on through his nieces and nephews: Madisyn Hamilton, Liam Sehlke, and Avery Sehlke.
Eric was preceded in death by his stepfather, Kevin Devereaux.
Born in Saint Johns, Michigan, Eric moved to Beaverton, Michigan, where he attended elementary school. He then moved to West Branch, Michigan, for junior high, and later graduated from high school in Traverse City, Michigan. Eventually, he relocated to Asheville, North Carolina, where he met his girlfriend. Some of Eric's greatest joys included taking trips to the mountains, riding his motorcycle, playing guitar, and spending time with his girlfriend and dog Cooper.
Eric worked for many years in the restaurant industry, starting as a cook and working his way up to a General Manager for major restaurant chains. He ultimately found his passion as the founder and owner/operator of Sehlke Pro Cleaning.
Eric was never afraid to embrace new opportunities and approached everything with honesty and integrity. He held strong values and was well-liked by everyone, largely due to his positive energy. His incredible patience and willingness to help others were hallmarks of his character.
His legacy will continue to remind us that we control our attitudes and that we can choose to live a life filled with meaningful acts of love and service, as modeled by Christ.
Visitation will be held at Charles Lux Funeral Home, 2300 S. Lincoln Rd, Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858, on Sunday, June 29, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by a service of remembrance at 11:00 AM.
