Eugene Schmall, 80, of Lake Isabella and formerly of Romeo, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010, at home surrounded by his family. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Eugene was born Nov. 4, 1929, in Detroit, the son of the late Edwin and Margaret (Curry) Schmall. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Eugene owned and operated Camall Company in Romeo, which manufactured pharmaceutical drugs. He was a founding member of National Pharmaceutical Alliance and he enjoyed reading, world events, and boating. Eugene married Cheryl (Hahn) Schoenherr on April 3, 1995, in Las Vegas, NV. After his retirement in 2000, he and his wife moved to Lake Isabella. Eugene is survived by his wife, Cheryl Schoenherr; six children, Eugene (Carolyn) Schmall Jr. of Traverse City, Sidney (Tammy) Schmall of Macomb Township, Linda Schmall of Traverse City, Iris (Les) Smith of Lake Isabella, Cynthia (Tim) Fisher of Dryden, and Austin Lee Schmall at home; two step-sons, Paul and Ted Schoenherr of Troy; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wives, Frances and Betty; grandson, Schuyler Schmall; and four siblings.
