Evelyn Huber-Hovey, 75, of Rosebush passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at home with her family by her side. A Funeral Mass for Evelyn will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, November 3, at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Henry Catholic Church in Rosebush with Father Peter Nwokoye as celebrant. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. with the Vigil beginning at 8:00 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Friday one hour prior to Mass. Burial will be in St. Henry Cemetery with a luncheon to conclude at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church. Evelyn was born October 4, 1942, in Lake City, daughter of the late Merlin and Vivian (Perrigo) Robinson. A 1960 graduate of Lake City High School, Evelyn married Ed Huber. Together they were blessed with four children, Annette, Daniel, Lisa, and Douglas. After his death, she married Terry Hovey on June 3, 1994 in Nashville, TN. She was employed as a social worker in the Department of Social Services in Isabella County. She transferred to Missaukee County where she eventually retired. Some of Evelyns favorite pastimes included reading, crosswords, canning peaches and salsa, pets, arranging floral bouquets and wreaths, shopping with her granddaughters, and giving gifts at Christmas. Evelyn will be remembered as a wonderful mother and someone who enjoyed taking care of others. Evelyn is survived by three children, Daniel Huber of Rosebush, Lisa (Clay) McCreight of Mt. Pleasant, and Douglas Huber of Rosebush; step-children, Laurie Hovey of Mt. Pleasant, Steve (Wendy) Hovey of Beal City, Tara (Kevin) Franko of Clare, Douglas Terry Hovey of Mt. Pleasant, and Jeremy (Stephanie) Hovey of Waterford; 14 grandchildren, Ranaeda, Amelia, Kara, Evan, Katie, Kevin, Zachary, Caleb, Jacob, John, Madelyn, Michael, J.J., and Harper; one great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Ann; three siblings, Patricia Pat (Jay) Bierrens of Lake City, Violet Sis Robinson of Lake City, and Richard Dick Robinson of Florida; in-laws, Todd (Mary) Hovey of Rosebush, Beth Hovey of Rosebush, Jerry Hovey of Muskegon, Rhonda (Bob) Bush of Traverse City, and Cora (Dave) Thielen of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merlin and Vivian Robinson; first husband, Edward Huber; daughter, Annette Huber; second husband, Terry Hovey; and her beloved pet, Jack.
