Fay L. Denslow, 81, of Hale, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at his home. His funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, February 23, at Lux Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Dale A. Golden officiating. Burial will be in Pine River Cemetery in Blanchard. Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Friday from 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 12-1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to MidMichigan Hospice. Envelopes are available at Lux Funeral Home. Fay was born June 7, 1920, in Blanchard, the son of Raymond and Geneva (Moody) Denslow. He married Mary (Kane) on January 25, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943-1946. He served aboard the USS West Virginia and was involved in every major campaign in the South Pacific. He was also a petroleum transport driver for 21 years for Johnson Oil in Mt. Pleasant and M.L. Asbury in Detroit, retiring December 31, 1981. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Fay is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary (Kane) Denslow of Hale; four children, Suzann (Terry) Presson of Grand Blanc, Betty Denton of Clare, Gary (Pat) Denslow of Hastings, Chris (Jennifer) Denslow of San Antonio TX; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four sisters, Shirley Denslow of Mt. Pleasant, Beryl Roselle of Novi, Pereppa (George) Gish of Bloomfield Hills, and Ruth Cook of Filer City; one brother, Jason (Glee) Denslow of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
