Fay McCaul, 79, of Shepherd, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at home with her family at her side. Fays funeral will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, at Coe Church of Christ, 10152 E. Coe Rd., St. Louis with Phil Smith of Grand Rapids officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow at the church. Burial will be in Salt River Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Visitation continues at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service. The family has requested no flowers, but those planning to make an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a gift to MidMichigan Hospice, Commission on Aging, or the wishes of the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Fay was born April 10, 1937, in Midland County, daughter of the late Earl D. and Maude M. (Anthony) Seeley. She married Gerald Jerry McCaul on June 19, 1954, in Shepherd. She and Jerry enjoyed traveling and spent their winters in Florida. She was employed by Shepherd Public Schools for 20 years. Some of Fays favorite pastimes were sewing, crocheting, going to garage sales with her sister-in-law Joyce, camping, and spending time with her family. She was a true matriarch. She will be dearly missed by all those who loved her. Fay is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Jerry; four children, Ginny Maney, Neil (Carol) McCaul, and Patty (Phil) Lentz all of Shepherd and Kevin (Jean) McCaul of Mt. Pleasant; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy (Angelina) Maney, Dan (Abby Sellers) Maney, Mike Maney, Laurie (Derek) Maxon, Amy (Shayne) Bridget, Jim (Bailey) McCaul, Matt McCaul, Tracie (Samantha Turner) Lentz, Kelly (Vinnie) Ortiz, Erin McCaul, Melissa (Mike) Kidder, and Devin Malley; 25 great-grandchildren; siblings, Thelma Opdycke of Sturgis, Doris Lytle of White Pigeon, Willard (Joyce) Seeley of Shepherd, Pauline Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Barbara (Hurshel) Wilder of Sturgis, David (Lori) Seeley of Shepherd, and Earlene Artecki of Shepherd; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Maude Seeley; step-mother, Margaret Seeley; brother, Clifford Seeley; and sister, Helen Kindig.
